Acceptable Use & Content Policy

PersonalizedSong makes personal songs to give to people you care about. This page is our acceptable use policy and forms part of the terms of service. It sets out what is not allowed, how our automated checks work, and what happens when the rules are broken.

Every song is AI-generated. A song you share on another platform is also subject to that platform's own community standards and moderation.

What you can make

We hold songs and gift pages to a broad-audience standard. Within it, the bar is wide:

• Songs for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, holidays, thank-yous, apologies, memorials and every other occasion.
• Lyrics about the people you love, their names, your shared memories and inside jokes.
• Any of our styles and moods, from heartfelt to funny, used with respect for other people.

What is not allowed

This applies to everything you write here — the story, lyric edits, gift notes, gift photos and replies — and to the songs made from it.

• NSFW and sexual content. Any NSFW, sexual or sexually suggestive content, in any form.
• Anything that sexualises or endangers minors. Zero tolerance, no exceptions, and confirmed cases are reported to the relevant authorities.
• Graphic violence and gore, and content that glorifies real violence, real atrocities, self-harm or suicide.
• Hate and extremism. Hate symbols, extremist insignia, terrorist content, and content that attacks people for who they are.
• Real people and impersonation. Using a real person's name to impersonate them, to harass them, or for false endorsement — including asking for a song in the voice of a named artist.
• Harassment through gifts. Sending a gift to someone to frighten, threaten or pester them, or scheduling gift emails to people who do not want them.
• Scams. Anything designed to trick people out of their accounts or money.
• Copyright and trademark infringement. Someone else's lyrics, songs, characters or brands reproduced as-is. Inspiration is fine; a copy is not.
• Bypass attempts — wording designed to get around our checks, including obfuscation, encoding and repeated rephrasing of a rejected request.

How moderation works

1. Blocked-terms list, every time. Everything you write is first checked against our own list of blocked words and phrases — sexual content, anything involving minors, graphic violence, hate, self-harm and scams. A match is refused straight away. We add to the list as we see new abuse.
2. Automated text screening. Text that passes the list then goes to an independent third-party content-safety check, Waffo Prompt Sift. If the check refuses the text, it is not used. If the check cannot be reached at that moment, the text is allowed through on the blocked-terms list alone, and the decision is recorded so that it can be reviewed afterwards.
3. Lyrics are checked too. The lyrics our model writes go through the same checks before you see them.
4. Gift photos. Every gift photo is checked by an automated image safety check before it is saved. If that check cannot be reached, the upload is refused and you can try again later.
5. Human review of every report. A person reads every report we receive and decides what happens to the content.
6. Records. We keep a record of every automated decision and every human review decision, so that refusals can be checked, appeals handled and our moderation audited.

The checks are automated and imperfect in both directions: they refuse things they should not, and things slip through. That is what reporting and appeals are for.

Enforcement

• Text or photo refused — it is not used, and you can change it and try again.
• Content removed — we take down the song or gift page and tell you which rule it broke.
• Account suspended — orders closed and the email address blocked, for repeated violations or a single serious one.
• Permanent ban and referral — for content that sexualises minors, terrorist content and other zero-tolerance categories.

Reporting content

• A gift email you did not expect: use the Report this link at the bottom of the email, or write to support@personalizedsong.org.

Include the link and what is wrong with it. We reply within two business days, remove anything that violates this policy, and keep the reporter's identity confidential.

Appeals

If your text or photo was refused or your content was removed and you think we got it wrong, email support@personalizedsong.org within 14 days with the link or the message you saw. A person reviews it and replies within five business days. If we agree, the content is restored.

Changes

We update this page when our checks change. The date at the top is the last revision.
